OUR STORY

Born From Prayer

It started with one handmade pony in 2013 — and became a mission that has carried comfort, faith and love to thousands.

In 2013, after completing “Faith,” my first Prayer Pony, I had a vision. I didn’t understand itat the time, but in the hours that I spent sewing, I was in prayer for my own life’s purpose.

Horses had become a huge part of my life and played a special role in my healing after losing my husband and the father of my children in 2005. As I held the completed pony in my arms, I quietly called her my Prayer Pony.

I wondered what our prayers to God really looked like.

The vision came to me of wild horses galloping across the meadows, carrying messages to our Father in Heaven.

From One Pony to Thousands

This special mission began on February 4, 2013. Since that day, thousands of Prayer Ponies have been adopted and sent into the world carrying messages of comfort and love.

Children with parents serving overseas • Children of incarcerated parents • Families grieving the loss of a parent or sibling • Men, women and children battling cancer or illness • Anyone simply needing prayer, comfort or support.

Made With Purpose

Every Prayer Pony is hand-sewn in North Carolina by our incredible team of like-hearted workers and volunteers. Every Pony is given a name and carries an inspirational poem.

Just like horses and humans, each pony is created to have a unique purpose and plan.

The Heart of a Horse

The heart of a horse is an incredible place of love, patience, trust and guidance. Simply being in a horse’s presence — stroking his powerful neck, feeling his breath on your face — can be unbelievably healing.

While it isn't always possible to be with a horse, a Prayer Pony can be a sweet reminder of God's love for His children.

A Mission That Keeps Growing

Originally created as the Prayer Pony Mission, the organization later became the Prayer Pony Foundation and grew into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. There are no salaries paid within the organization. The prayer remains simple: to give, and to glorify the love of Christ through serving His children.

Be a blessing to someone today.

Help us share God's healing, hope and horses with those who need it most.
